Reverse paint on hand blown glass bowl, open at both ends. 

This piece was inspired by a tour of a coal-mining museum in Nova Scotia and learning about the dark and dangerous life of miners.The bottom portion of this bowl is cave-like, showing miners working underground, with the only light coming from the headlights on their helmets. The upper level depicts my family as I was growing up.

Our heat and light come on the backs of miners.
